Subject: How to Make Your Own Stick Pins Tue May 03, 2011 10:22 am
Metal embellishments seem to be a hot trend right now. I tend to just use whatever I like and don't really follow trends. This is one case where the two seem to merge. :-D
I first started using stick pins when a kit I received included a couple. They were cute and I really liked them, then I saw how much some people were charging for them and thought, well I can make those for myself...then I can make sure they go with my layout, I can pick whether it's silver, gold, or antique looking, etc. There's a lot of flexibility when you make your own.
Then, Jess /Kinderstampo had a birthday series of videos and in one of them she showed how she makes hers. In the video, she only goes through making them using head pins (the ones with a flat head), but I also like the look when you use eye pins, because you can then add a short length of chain and dangle a chandelier bead or charm off of it.
