July Card Challenge (due July 31st)

I really can't believe we are half way through this year! I don't know where the time has gone!
For my challenge this month I would like you to create a card using the following color combo:


I decided on the Olympic Rings for the colors, as I am from the UK which is where the Olympics are being held later on this month. I was so excited when the UK got the bid to hold the Olympics as I thought I could FINALLY watch it live! Fairly typical we move to the USA shortly after - 7 hours time difference again!!!! Anyway, here is my card:


I used a sketch from the 'scrapbooksteals' blog (monday card madness sketch).
I used the Simple Stories 'Summer Fresh' 6x6 paper pad, which can be purchased from the shop here:

There is also the 12x12 collection kit, memorabilia pockets and journal pages available for this collection.

**Create a card using the above color combo
**Entries are due by July 31st, 2012 11:59pm PST
**Be sure to add the keyword "JULYCARD" to your gallery upload

this card is for a young lady from my church who had planned a wedding in december but the groom excepted a job starting sept in sc so they changed the wedding date but they are still having a christmas themed wedding , thus the reason for pointsettas on the shower card.

the coloring was not the best but the basic grey is the right colors for the challenge

the embossing does not show well in the photo

here is what i came up with

OK, OK... I know this is a bit literal but it worked for what it was meant for - my in-laws in the UK sent us some pre-Olympic souveniers along with a birthday gift for me. As my husband is flying out to spend time with them, I needed to whip up a quick Thank You. And now onto a get well card for hubby's dad who is having a quad heart bypass at 77 (hence the trip out there).
