Birthday A2 cards for OWH - due 4/30

Happy Birthday Paper Secrets

My challenge is to pull out all those leftover BIRTHDAY themed stickers you have from previous projects. Grab some scrap paper, ribbon and etc. from your stash and create 4 to 6, A2 size Birthday cards from the stuff gathered.

Entries are due by April 30th, 11:59pm PST
Be sure to add the keyword "owh1" to your uploads

Here is some of the Guidelines to making OWH cards:

No Glitter - It's a safety hazard for our heroes!
A2 sized cards: that is 4.25" x 5.5" - half a sheet of cardstock!
Line cards made with dark cardstock with white paper - if a pencil won't show up, add a liner!
Do NOT handwrite sentiments - Neither outside or inside the cards!

When ready to mail your cards, just go to Operation Write Home mail room at http://www.operationwritehome.org/mailroom.html to get the address nearest you and all the details for preparing your cards to mail.

Fun challenge!

Great challenge and fun way to help our soldiers. I have a question...why do we line the inside with dark cardstock? I know the instructions here and there say to, but just curious. That's how we learn, by asking questions!

If you use dark card stock as your base you need to line it with a lighter color inside so the hero can write on it. They don't have access to white gel pens.

ok, i read it as if we HAD to line it wth dark paper! Thats why I was so confused. I get the need to be able to write inside. Thanks

Great challenge! What a fabulous cause too! If you're not familiar with OWH (Operation Write Home), you might want to check out their site. They have great card sketches available too! :-D

There I changed it to read add white paper for the liner, LOL! It did read confusing but hopefully that will be better.

I love how thoughtful this challenge is!

I'd like to play but I only have one birthday sticker in my whole stash...can you believe that? I do have birthday stamps though, so do I have to use stickers?

Awww! I LOVE this one! Remember we can still complete challenges until the end of the month now, so maybe there will be entries later? I couldn't get this one done because I wasn't able to find any more birthday stickers. I'll keep looking. If you don't mind that I use birthday rubons or stamps instead, or non-birthday stickers, I'll try to complete it tonight once the kids are in bed. :-D

As for the stamps, I would say NO as the point is to use your scraps for a good cause. As for the Rub ons, that works for me, they are just like stickers, well sort of, LOL! Everything does need to be Birthday themed thou, since this is a Birthday challenge and OWH always needs more Birthday Cards.

For a chance to win the individual challenge prizes for the Bash, entries need to be made by 11:59 tonight, but for entries into the April monthly prize, the challenges just need to be completed by the end of the month. That way individuals who missed the Birthday Bash altogether can still play along w/the challenges and those of us who were here for it can make projects for the challenges we couldn't get done in time for tonight's deadline.

Well, I was planning on using paper & ribbon scraps as I have a ton of those. I just don't have a very big rubon/sticker collection and the few birthday stickers I did have at one time were used long ago. I only have enough "stickers" on hand to make one card and you asked for us to make several for the challenge. So, I guess I will not be able to participate

I LOVE THIS CHALLENGE.
I usually attempt to finish each and every challenge in an Online Crop, but the dreaded OHIO head cold got my kids over the weekend and into today......Even if I can't finish by tonight, I DEFINITELY want to complete this project.....it is truly near and dear to my heart to help our soldiers in any way we can here at home....
