Paper Crafts magazine prides itself on its blind submissions judging. Please be sure that your project image does not contain a watermark with any personal information. When you submit an image of your design, please make sure it is clearly photographed straight-on with a neutral background or scanned.

DEADLINES:
Image/submission deadline: Monday, October 31, 2011

Project acceptance from Paper Crafts editor: No later than Thursday, November 3, 2011 (Please don't submit your project(s) to any other publications until after this date.)

Completed project in office: No later than Wednesday, November 23, 2011

Please submit cards that have never appeared online or on a blog of any kind whatsoever using product that will be available throughout 2011.



WHAT WE NEED WITH YOUR SUBMISSION:

Make note of items or techniques we may not be able to see. Send the finished size of the item and a list of supplies used plus any notes about unique techniques you used to create the project.



Mom and Dad and the pomp and circumstance of graduation are on our minds so it must be time to submit to our May/June 2012 issue, Paper Crafts designer!



Send us your fresh and innovative ideas for projects based on the following themes. You can increase your chances of being published by using current products, the coolest techniques, the finest execution, and a style that's all your own.

Gifts for Mom Made with Found Treasures

Moms, step-moms, and grandmas are special treasures. Show your love to her through a handmade gift that she'll cherish!



Create gifts that feature found items like antique buttons, lace, postcards, jewelry, ephemera, keys, jars, cigar boxes, etc. - basically anything you might find hidden in a drawer or the attic. In addition to the gift, we'd like you to include a matching card to give with the gift. We'll be looking for a variety of styles (fun and cute, clean and graphic, classy and elegant, vintage, shabby chic).




Dressing Up Dad

Dapper dads are definitely hip! Create projects featuring things that dad would wear from ties, hats, and plaid pants to vests, suits, and even mustaches. How will you dress up your dad?



We're looking for projects including cards, gift bags and tags, gift card holders, paper crafted gifts, gift wraps, mini-album covers, home décor, etc. in a variety of styles (fun and cute, clean and graphic, classy and elegant, vintage, shabby chic) for Father's Day as well as birthday, thank you, hello, get well, encouragement, etc.






Inspirational Quotes for Teachers and Graduates

Teachers who influence and graduates who are about to embark on the future - both deserve a pat on the back as the school year comes to a close.



Create projects that feature an inspiring quote to share with a teacher or a graduate - from Dr. Seuss to Henry David Thoreau to the Holy Bible to Shel Silverstein to Abraham Lincoln to anything in between! We'll be looking for cards, gift bags and tags, gift card holders, paper crafted gifts, gift wraps, mini-album covers, home décor, etc., in a variety of styles (fun and cute, clean and graphic, classy and elegant, vintage, shabby chic) for teachers and graduates. Please be sure to verify the quote for accuracy.




May/June Stamp It! Techniques - Heat Embossing

Our reader survey tells us that you love stamping AND techniques, so in each issue we'll feature a popular stamping technique with plenty of projects showing ways to do it! This issue's column will focus on heat embossing.

Let your imagination run wild with your heat gun and stamps, and create cards, gift bags, tags, mini-album covers, treat containers, etc. We're looking for Mother's Day, Father's Day, and graduation projects as well as birthday, thank you, hello, friendship, sympathy, get well, encouragement, etc.

If we accept your project we'll need a detailed supply list, so please pay attention to what products you use when creating your projects. A detailed list will include the name/description of the product, the brand name or product line, and the manufacturer.

Send your ideas in the form of digital pictures or scanned images. Do not send completed projects until accepted.
All ideas must be copyright-free and not have been previously published or a variation of one published.
We are unable to personally respond to each submission. You'll receive an email from us only if we decide to use your tip, idea, or project.
If you use professional photos, be sure you can obtain a photo release for publication.
If you use templates or other published items, be sure that you have the permission of the copyright holder and include a credit line for the copyright holder.
