SQOTD 1/25/12 (older stash)

What do you do with your older stash? How old is too old? Personally, I still use my older supplies and don't feel that they have an expiration date. I liked it when I bought and still do a year+ later. BUT I'm always tempted to use new stuff right away, so I do end up hoarding a lot. I've heard some others say their styles and preferences have changed too much over time so they purge all their older products regularly.

What do you do with your older stash...do you use it, do you hoard it, do you sell it, do you give it away?

All of the above. As long as it still inspires me, I keep it. I try my best to use at least 1 really old item or tool every time I create a project. If it doesn't inspire me anymore, I put it in the kids stash, sell it or donate it.

In the past year, I've used up a bunch of paper that I'd had in my stash for about 10 years. So I'm not afraid to keep it. I have taken some to the library for crafts with my kids, too. And Alicia gets into my stuff sometimes.

MOst of my stash is old! I do like to use it up though. It is great fro cards - if nothing else.

DITTO --- except for the "i try my best to use use at leaset 1 old item....." lol I don't try...but I should!!!!

I have a lot of old stuff that I still love but haven't used because I end up using newer lines for whatever reason. I plan on using up my entire stash though . . . eventually!

my memory is so bad that I cannot remember how old some of it is! lol
but if I still like it I use it, if I look at it and think what was I thinking then i usually give it away

I have "old" in my stash but I prefer to think of it as "classic" - LOL!! Semantics... I know, but makes me feel better about all the stuff unused. If I don't feel it fits into my style anymore then my daughter gets it. You should see her collection!!

It all depends on the product, I've kept my velum, handmade papers and etc, they comein handy sometimes. I clean out things I'm not fond of a lot, I have some friends that love my leftovers and use them so I don't feel bad going through things.

I haven't scrapped in almost a year so all I have is old stuff! LOL! Now I just have to figure out how to make it look current & keep up with all of you!

I try to use it. If not I share with my girls.

I tend to use it or share it.

I share my old stuff with the 11 y/o who scrapbooks with me.

Last year I donated a 16" stack of papers to my local elementary school b/c I KNEW I wouldn't use it. I've also joined paper trains that help with the same idea of culling out papers.
