| How do you organize your finished layouts? Do you have books by year, occasion/holiday?
Being relatively new to scrapping, I am currently looking any tips for organizing my layouts! I started to order my layouts by year, but then I don't scrap in date order, so I am forever taking them in and out of folders to rearrange them. I have heard people talking about putting the in D-ring binders and then just inserting pages in wherever necessary. At the moment they are in a huge pile on my shelves!

| I have mine by years -- in chronological order. then I have my vacations and children's first year albums all in separate albums. I used the 3D Albums (American Crafts) for all my albums and I just started buying the 12x12 photo sheets to hold my extra photos i don't scrap. I am putting those at the end of my scrapbooks. It seems that every year the amount of albums pre year increases... lol! I have to figure a way to kept it down. Last year, I had 8 3D albums and 2 Vacations and 2 albums for my daughter who turned 18. yikes!
oh and fyi, I don't scrap in chronological order but I do put them a way that way. :)

| I have not been scrapping in date order so I have a bunch of incomplete albums and I just add them to the corresponding album as I go. I use 3-ring albums so it is easy to add. if I have not put an album aside yet for certain layouts, I store them in Iris containers. | |

| I'm currently in a mess with mine. I have some in albums in the correct years and chronological order, but now I have a stack that needs to be added in, which means taking albums apart...so I just bought 3-rings and hoping to tackle this project soon...and then figure out which additional layouts I need to add to the albums or atleast leave space for them...and attempt to finish up some of the years. I don't scrap in any order, and now I see the downside of doing that.
Vacation trips (big ones) are in separate album(s)

| Well, my first 2 scrapbooks were our Amtrak trips around the US. The 2002 trip we traveled 9000 miles, and is over 6 inches thick. #2 in 2003 we traveled 6000 miles, and its a good 4 inches. I scrapped them in chronological order and I did not use the 1st piece of patterned paper until into the 2nd album ! After that, once I got on SB boards, I scrap whatever that challenge takes me. My DIL , the last time she was heer, said she enjoyed the fact that there was a people LO, then a wildflower LO to a nature LO to one whatever... She thought it "boring" just being pic after pic after pic of the same subject. That was her opinion, so when its time, she can keep the ones she wants, and...... whatever she dosen't.... | |

| Overall, everything is chronological. I tend to scrap that way, too. I do have a few "special" albums, like our trip to Disneyland. If I do happen to scrap something out of order, I have a box (about 13x13) that I put them in until I get to that point in my albums. It's not a great system, but it works. | |

| In the past I had quite a time since I wasn't using the 3 ring binders and now it is so much easier to get the pages put away since I do not scrap in date order. All of the albums are arranged in date order and I was getting better about putting them away when I finished one but lately I have a nice pile growing again!
Rochelle - I am going to have to check out those 12x12 photo sheets. I would love to keep those in my albums too - thanks for the tip!
