SYAO2 Challenge 1 Due 2/7

Everyone is so talented, I don't think I saw a bad layout! great job!

Here's mine. I used flowers, twine, corrugated cardboard, brads, and misting.

Help!!
I am having issues downloading photos from my camera to my computer. I got a new computer and I think the scanning software wasn't installed. It is a work computer, so I am going to try to see if they can get something installed so I can post my photo.



Also, is this the best way to communicate vs sending an email? I'm never quite sure if I'm doing this correctly.

Here's mine for week one, I used dry embossing to make the tag for the techinique
From the list I used, flowers, brads, staples, and the ribbons/twine. There's also some chipboard tags and a cupcake.
Fun layout to do.

Great layouts ladies! Here's my take on the challenge:
I used (3) Buttons, 4 Photo Corners, Twine and Raw Chipboard (altered with pp to make photo corners)
Technique: Stamping (Butterflies)

I have tried uploading my file and I keep getting an error. It won't upload. I believe I am following the instructions, so I'm not sure what to do.

Here is the error:

Error
No file was uploaded!
If you have really selected a file to upload, check that the server allows file uploads...

Please help!

I'm not sure what your problem could be you're all registered in the gallery so you should not be having problems uploading. Have you read these directions:

So you solved your problem with getting the picture on your computer? Don't know if you're using a PC or MAC...on my PC I have the picture in "MY PICTURES" & when I click on the "BROWSE" button in the gallery it'll take me to there & I just click on the photo I want & open it & it automatically uploads. Have you created your own album in the gallery yet ? So if you're still having problems with the gallery you could post your picture here in this thread & I'll put it into the gallery...if we go this route you'll need to private message me your password so it'll be put under your name

I am *so* stressed out by this experience!

I ended up using my daughter's camera and downloading from there. Should have thought of that sooner! Tomorrow I'll have work figure out why I couldn't download.

I tried copy/paste and it won't work in this space..I don't know why!!

I tried using the symbol above for hosting an image and managed to upload the photo, but then there was nothing to do to close the window or post or anything. I really don't understand why there are so many issues.

I am so scared that I didn't post correctly in the gallery! I'd hate to be kicked out of the challenge the first week because I didn't upload properly!

Verena...your image does not need to be posted here in the forum...but it DOES need to be uploaded to the gallery for this challenge.

The symbol you are referring to. Click it, browse for your photo and resize from the drop menu so that it is 640 or smaller. Then click "Host It". 3 options then come up...copy the one in the middle. THEN CLICK THE ICON AGAIN. That will close the upload window.

Again, you do not need to do this though. Your entry only needs to be in the gallery. :-D

Tracy...if your membername in the gallery is TracyLT, then you uploaded to the gallery just fine. :-D

Same error, no upload. I have created and album, but cannot find it anywhere, yet, it appears in the drop down menu when I *try* to post the file. I have followed the directions; do not know what I am missing.

Is your file to large? I had this problem last week and after resizing it uploaded just fine.

I got it uploaded for her she still needs to learn how to do it herself though. You did make some progress you got it into the pm!

First off, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

Secondly, I appreciate all the suggestions and advice, but I don't need to learn how to do this; I know how to upload pictures...I've done this hundreds of times!! I followed the directions EXACTLY, so basically, I need to figure out what is going wrong.

Lastly, this is a very confusing site. I work in IT; I have designed web sites and maintained them, so this has nothing to do with my abilities or lack of them. It just isn't an easy site to navigate or to intuitively find information.

I really hope to get this figured out by next week. I was so excited to participate and it has been so frustrating for me today; I have been at this since about 10:00 this morning and I was so stressed that I wasn't going to get this loaded in time and I'd be out the first week!!. I'm going to sit with another member and go step-by-step to see where I am doing something differently.

Well now you can relax let the stress go & go at it with a fresh mind....I know how stressful it can be to encounter problems when you're on a time limit. I'm sorry you find the site hard to navigate we've tried to make it user friendly hopefully it will get easier with more familiarity

I'm trying to see what is going wrong but I'm not sure exactly what steps you are taking.
in the gallery,
1. click {upload file} button above the logo
2. select your personal album from the drop down menu
3. click browse to open your files
4. choose the image you want to upload
5. it will automatically upload & show in your upload queue
6. click continue
7. your file & all it's properties should come up. This is where you can add all your details, but MOST IMPORTANTLY, add the keyword provided for the challenge you have completed.

At what point does something go wrong? what messages are you getting? Personally, my camera photos are HUGE. Have you tried resizing your photos?

Kristi, I emailed Nancy what I was doing step by step. The only difference I can see is that I click "Upload" and you put "continue"..I'm going to see if that makes a difference. Maybe Nancy can share with you my email.

I get this message after I click "Upload". I don't think it is the size of my pic; it's a normal picture that I can upload anywhere else!
