How do you store your stamps? What works or doesn't work for you choice of storage?

I have alot of stamps & they have been just crammed onto a shelf which makes it hard to find what I need. My new solution isn't finished yet but I'm hoping it will work. I am putting them all into Iris cases by theme. Each case will have a number on it. I am going to create a notebook with all the stamped images organized by #. This way I will be able to flip through my book of stamped images & know exactly which case I can find that stamp.

I just have them in drawers.
Drawers of alphabet stamps
Drawer of kid's stamps
Drawer of Christmas stamps
Drawer of misc stamps
Drawer of ink pads

A few essential stamps (flourish set I use often) and a variety of small cat's eye and my Holtz Distress brown (vintage photo) and 1 pad of black ink are in my table top tote as I can't leave home to crop without them!

I have them all over the place! I think the only thing i have organized is that all the wooden stamps are together, all the foam stamps (yes.. still have them..lol) are together and the clear stamps are divided into catorgies and the yare in plastic containers. I am not a stamper and really don't use them alot. So maybe that's why they are really not organized! lol

I totally need a better system for my stamps. I have them in an Iris cart the bottom two drawers because they are super deep. but for my wooden stamps it's still a pain to have to pull them out to find the one I'm looking for, which is ALWAYS on the bottom.

LOL I'm working on it! I actually started organizing my stamps yesterday! Being on the DT for a stamp company I'm getting overwhelmed and yesterday... while looking for my big leaves I thought enough! I had bought the binders and storage panels and now I'm catogorizing and it is INSANE!! I've been with them for 3 months now and I have 2 huge binders FULL and 1 huge binder FULL of dies. I bought some magnetic pages that I attached to the panel. Hopefully I'll finish putting the stamps together tonight! It is INSANE!! I haven't even touched my other stamps! OMGosh! It is completly INSANE!!

My system is similar to Kristi's and it has worked out great. The only difference is I have the Rubbermaid drawer carts, not Iris carts. I'm an SU demo and I have a ton of the old wooden sets. These are all turned on their side inside the drawers so I can see the name of the stamp set...no digging. I have my carts numbered 1-3 and inside my binders I have different tabs for each cart/drawer. For example, C1D3 means Cart 1, drawer 3. On the plastic cases, near the name of the stamp set, I will write 1-3. That way when I get through with a set I know which cart/drawer it belongs to. When I get a new stamp set I will scan the label images and add it to my binder under the appropriate tab. The newer DVD case sets (clear-mount) I keep on a bookshelf.
