Here is my take on the sketch



I used twine, 3+ flowers, 3 patterned papers and chipboard and a border punch.

I love the sketch - but I am going on record with the grrrrr (lol) I have a boy and the flowers every week is so frustrating! I LOVE THEM!!!! I can't use them all the time with him, though. I have SO many primas from when I was pregnant and thought for SURE I was having a girl but I can't use 3+ flowers on layouts with a boy all the time.

Great sketch!

Colleen- I hear you on the flowers with boys...but I've been doing it...even this week...I put small ones at the base of the topper...to make it look like the flowers were part of the topper...and they are tiny ones...so not over powering...I think they may have been really old prima. The doily I find way too girly for their pages...but so many other options that I don't mind seeing it...and I love seeing the layouts folks do with them.

Lisa - I see your flowers! and I mean to ask - is that Popcorn Park Zoo?

I used to feel the same way about using flowers on boys layouts but not anymore love using flowers on girls or boys layouts...don't forget ladies you don't have to use the flowers you only need to use 4 of the 8 products listed....

I love flowers but I certainly understand why some would not. Suggestion: Maybe we could 'substitute' one embellishment such as 3+ Stars for 3+ flowers. Just an idea of course it is up to the powers that be!!!

There's already a list of alternatives to flowers...only 4 out of the 8 items listed need to be used for each layout.

You can still use stars on your layout as long as you use at least 4 of the 8 items listed..

my technique is border punches
i used 3 flowers
i used washi tape
3 different pattern papers
stick pin
and as an added touch there is bling on the flowers and lettering and sticker LOL



now to finish packing so I can head south to warm weather!

I have my photo printed (5 x 7) and papers picked - still can't make up my mind on the embellishments!

I use to feel that way as well Colleen, but I love flowers of all kinds and I've started using them on my boy pages. I figure they won't be nearly as excited about having a scrapbook as a daughter would be...and since we have no girls, I am doing the scrapbooks mostly for my benefit and I love flowers, haha! Plus I have found that poppies are a little more masculine than roses so I use them for hubbies cards, lol! Alot of my layouts are mostly word or quote themed, or travel..now when I get to the rough and tough pages I'm gonna have to lay off the flowers, hee hee!

Thanks, I think you get what I was going for. It isn't about the challenge for the group and making up the 4 out of 8 as much as my love of flowers! I have so many of them and just couldn't justify using them on "Jared" pages because I bought really girly flowers. I try to use them up on cards and put them in huge bunches on pages that I can get away with them (wedding, etc) to use them up in large batches. I think I am going to make a bunch of cards and just use a ton of them up and move on from my obsession.

A few weeks ago my daughter defended her dissertation. We had not really thought about attending but then wished we had. Jen asked her professor if I could skype in and he didn't care. So I attended via Skype!

I have a doily, 3+ pattern papers, 3+ flowers, chipboard. I punched for the technique.

Beautifully done! Glad you got to attend...even it wasn't by physically being there!
